At Just Born, Inc., consumer safety and product quality are our main priorities.  We have never purchased milk or milk products from China.  ALL of our products are safe to consume.

In order to secure strict adherence to FDA guidelines, sanitation procedures and safety, we are unable to accommodate tours of our facility. For a virtual tour click here.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate the many requests we get for free samples of our products.  However, at any given time you should be able to find some sort of brand-sponsored promotion, game or giveaway either on one of our brand websites or on-pack.  Be sure to check out our websites regularly to find out what's going on.

We do not currently have coupons available to send on request.  Typically, when we issue coupons they would be found in your Sunday newspaper inserts.  It is not something, however, that we do on a regular basis.

Just Born got its name when founder, Sam Born, proudly displayed in his store window an evolving line of daily-made candy, declaring them "just born".

Some theories about how MIKE AND IKE® was named include:  as a result of a company-wide contest, after a 1937 song titled "Mike and Ike (The Twins)" and after a Vaudeville act "Mike and Ike, We're Just Alike".

Currently, the only MIKE AND IKE® flavor that is available individually is grape, which is our MIKE AND IKE JOLLY JOES® variety.

PEEPS® Marshmallow Candies are a seasonal item, available in stores for Valentine's Day, Easter, Halloween and Christmas. We sometimes offer PEEPS® out of season through our on-line store. Check it out to see what is available now.

Our research and development team is always hard at work on new and exciting candy options, most of which are in the works for years before they are introduced into the marketplace. It is understood that any unsolicited ideas submitted shall be the property of Just Born, Inc.

Because our brand names, logos, and the PEEPS® shapes are registered trademarks of Just Born, Inc., we cannot authorize any use of them by third parties.

We license our brand names to a variety of manufacturers that offer different types of merchandise, however, we do not directly distribute most of them.  There may be select items available through our on-line store at any given time.  Check it out to see what is available now.

The modified food starch that we use in our candies in corn starch.  We are in the process of updating our package labels to reflect products that are gluten free.  Our gluten free brands are: MIKE AND IKE® Brand Candies, HOT TAMALES® Brand Candies, PEEPS® Marshmallow Candies, PEANUT CHEW® Brand candies, TEENEE BEANEE® Jelly Beans and JUST BORN® Jelly Bean. This information pertains to all Just Born candies that we make and package at our two manufacturing locations (Bethlehem, PA and Philadelphia, PA) and are in their original packaging. Please be aware that we do sell some of our products in bulk to other manufacturers who may be repackaging them in another facility.  We encourage consumers to read the labels carefully for any gluten information on products that might be packaged elsewhere.  For further questions, we recommend consumers call our Consumer Relations Team toll-free at 1-888-645-3453.

All of our jelly bean candies, such as: MIKE AND IKE® Brand Candies, HOT TAMALES® Brand Candies, TEENEE BEANEE® Jelly Beans and JUST BORN® Jelly Beans are kosher and pareve.  PEANUT CHEWS® Brand Candies are designated as OU-D and are certified kosher dairy.  They are manufactured under the supervision of the Kashruth Division of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America.  Our PEEPS® Marshmallow Candies are not kosher because they contain pork derived gelatin.

Because product formulations can change at any time, we encourage consumers to refer to our package labels for the most up-to-date ingredient and allergen information.  We are required by law to declare major food allergens as defined by the FDA on our label.  Moreover, we voluntarily add advisory statements to our packages to alert consumers to potential cross contamination risk.  This information pertains to all Just Born candies that we make and package at our two manufacturing locations (Bethlehem, PA and Philadelphia, PA) and are in their original packaging.  Please be aware that we do sell some of our products in bulk to other manufacturers who may be repackaging them in another facility.  We encourage consumers to read the labels carefully for any potential allergen warning on products that might be packaged elsewhere.  For further questions, we recommend consumers call our Consumer Relations Team toll free at 1-888-645-3453.

We do make a sugar free alternative to our PEEPS® Marshmallow candies that are sweetened with Splenda®.  We currently offer them for three seasons - Valentine's, Easter and Halloween.  We continue to research additional opportunities and we hope to expand our sugar free offerings even more in the future.
