MIKE AND IKE® and HOT TAMALES® Mega Hits At the Box Office

Bethlehem, PA, December 18, 2006-Just Born, Inc.'s MIKE AND IKE® brand chewy fruit flavored candies and HOT TAMALES® brand chewy cinnamon flavored candies are stars in the Theater Box Category. MIKE AND IKE® is the #1 brand and HOT TAMALES® #3 in the Theater Box Category (including Sugar and Chocolate brands - source: IRI 52 wk 10/8/06). Just Born is the leading manufacturer in the sugar segment, which is up +11.2% versus last year, with 31.8 percent of sales.

Just Born has seen significant success with its two new theater box sizes in 6-oz. and 9.5-oz. In 2006 the company introduced the following in the new sizes: MIKE AND IKE® Original Fruits, TROPICAL TYPHOONT and BERRY BLASTT along with HOT TAMALES® and HOT TAMALES® FIRET. Also available in the 6.0-oz. size is the JOLLY JOES® variety. The smaller theater box has an SRP of $1.19 and "The Big Box!" an SRP of $1.59.
